Who We Are
Our
Our Name
Lifetree Church, we know the name is unique. Perhaps some people would think a church should be named for a geographical region, or a specific name in the Bible. However, through months of prayer and discussion, the name Lifetree was chosen because it reflects the deepest beliefs of our faith.
First, the name Lifetree speaks to the promise of God found in Jeremiah 17:7-8, “ "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." At Lifetree, we believe that God has blessed us and will continue to bless us because we trust in Him. Regardless of the season we find ourselves in, we have the awesome responsibility and privilege to reach out to people who need a real and relevant relationship with Jesus Christ.
Also, the name Lifetree is rooted in the theology of 1 Peter 2:24 which states, “He (Jesus) himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” We believe, without any hesitation, that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross has provided the only way for men and women to be reconciled to God. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior, then we can experience unconditional forgiveness and love. The wounds and sacrifice of Jesus can become an unbelievable path for healing from the sin and sickness of this life. Through Jesus’ death on a cruel cross a person can experience eternal life and this is why the name Lifetree reminds us of the precious gift God has given us through His Son.
