History

~A Great Heritage~

Lifetree Church is affiliated with the Church of God, headquartered in Anderson, Indiana. Established during the Holiness Movement of the 1800’s, the Church of God took shape in 1881 under the direction and leadership of D.S. Warner.

The foundational principles taught by the Church of God emphasized spiritual fellowship with Christ, unity among believers and the importance of biblical truths. Over time, this biblical teaching spread, extending into western and central Pennsylvania.

In the early 1900’s, Mr. and Mrs. George Ramer moved to Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. They began holding services in their home. As attendance increased, it became necessary to purchase the former Presbyterian facility on the corner of Glover and Walnut Streets in Jersey Shore.

~A Greater Future~

The Jersey Shore Church of God went through various transitions in the following years. After the arrival of senior pastor Drew Wilkerson in 1988, the church relocated in 1995 to a new building located on five acres of land, just outside Jersey Shore.

The mission of the church, then and now, focuses on making Christ real and relevant to the world, by reaching up, reaching in and reaching out to those in need of a personal relationship with Christ.

As our church has continued to evaluate how we can be most effective within the community at large, Jersey Shore Church of God became Lifetree Church in 2007. A new name enables us to extend God’s message of love and hope to the people of Lycoming and Clinton counties and fulfill the dream He has given us.
